Happy New Year 2007!
This year I will not resolve to loose weight but to become healthier. To eat healthier and exercise more. To take better care of my outside and inside. To sleep more. To drink more water. To see a doctor for my pains, aches and bad colds rather than trying to treat myself.
I resolve to spend more time playing with my daughter. Taking her to the park and to the zoo and to see her cousins. Teaching her more but not worrying if she doesn't retain it right away. Realizing that she's only one and not worrying (I didn't say wondering) about what or who she's going to be when she grows up.
I resolve to spend more time with my husband. Just he and I. Going on dates. More laughing, talking and closeness.
I resolve to spend more time with my friends and family doing nothing except getting to know them better. I resolve to let go of the things and people that let me down or get me down. I resolve not to care about those that aren't really important to me. To not care so much about people but about my husband, my daughter, my friends, my family-those that love me and what THEY think. To let go of my jealousies and my insecureties. To become the person that I am and not try to be anybody that I'm not. To live for today. Not tomorrow and not 10 years ago. To hold on tight to my memories and to always remember that the negative ones only brought me to today.
I resolve to remember my brother everyday. To remember the love, the great person that he was and the joy he brought to so many. To remember the way he used to say "Kim" and the sound of his voice when he told me he loved me. Knowing that he truly meant it. To remember how proudly he would introduce and say allowed "this is my niece, Madison". To know that he would want me to live my life being the best that I could for Madison and Mike and everyone that I love. To remember that he would want me to remember him but to be as happy as I can. To visit his graveside more often. To make sure that Madison knows who he is and how special she was to him for such a short time.
I resolve to learn something new. Cooking, photography or something as simple as letting my husband teach me about WW II. To be more organized and together. To take more pictures. To visit my grandparents more often.
I resolve to breathe and take in every single moment of every single day. To make 2007 the best year thus far...
